After watching the trailer of The Holiday twice, it was a much anticipated movie plus another attempt of wearing cupid’s dress, with a lil less involvement this time, since I politely excused myself from dinner and stop brightly lighting up the atmosphere, for once!
Back to the show, it was a pleasant surprise and surpassed my expectation as without much idea, thinking it would be another Chick flick, it turned out to be excellently/beautifully scripted, containing very nice lines, with warm and heartfelt chemistry. It was a joy to see how Jude Law and Cameron Diaz passionately interacts, besides, who can resist Cameron’s wide sunshine smile?? And how Jack Black being charmingly funny actually without his usual slapstick acts, and how the spineless newspaper writer Kate Winslet finally got over her Bridget Jone’s symptoms. Plus, Surrey where the breathtaking scenery at one of the houses filmed is no question about the strong affinity in me since it’s where my Masters degree was granted.
I guess.. all in all The Holiday is for us who like to suspend reality (for a long long time) and it’ll be a miracle to jolly well try and pull me back down to earth!!

A week later, out of boredom, Music & Lyrics was a spontaneous choice being a sucker for romantic comedies. Never felt more like a minority as I was likely the only Chinese walking around the mall given it’s the Chinese New Year’s Eve’s eve. Felt bizarre.
The movie is not much popping going on if you ask me. And I can’t feel any of the chemistry or whatsoever between the two. Hugh Grant, is still better in Love Actually and About A Boy, for at least he was more moving. But, credits to him singing all the songs himself, really not bad at all.
Though I do like the title of the song: ‘Way Back Into Love’, as many simply goes lost along the way, for I am clearly one of them.
