The Pursuit of HappYness

After a refreshing weeklong work trip in Bangkok… it’s pay back time which means a lousy week being swamped in heaps loada dreary reports and WIPs.. AND STILL wondering at that giant cross road if 6 months at CATC in Sydney or a predictable routine but stable career in Jalan Tandang would make me happier. I thought maybe The Pursuit of HappYness will give me some inspiration. I told G, let’s go tonight.

With some preconceptions about the film from the trailer, that looks like an ode to American dream.. tells a story set in the 1980s San Francisco and based on a true character Chris Gardner, a single father struggling to make ends meet, trying to raise his son while homeless. Will Smith walking a path totally opposite his usual comedic types, performed beyond excellence. But my fav is his son (also real-life son) Jaden Smith, who's totally natural in the movie, adorable and cheeky sometimes. I most enjoy the interaction between them both eg. The part when they play knock knock who’s there… I laughed my butt off.. every scene has its emotional plot, Will Smith’s depressing scene is exhaustively moving and heartbreaking as he distills every drop of emotion! I was completely drained at the end of it. ok ok... shouldn’t give away too much, else for those who hasn’t seen it will be cursing and swearing at this blog!

Anyway, we must be damn lucky, to have a job, let alone a nice comfy roof over our head with food on the table.

Thanks mum & dad !

Still… you know what will make me jump right now?? Heroes DVD !!!
I have blardy missed 2.5 episodes – 3,4 & 1st ½ of 5 !! man…. This is not good at all.
